Definitely could have used this since the beginning of the year. But, you know, no time. Who has time?
I wish I had taken more time at the beginning of the year to establish norms and a culture in my classroom. I was too "good" in trying to get started on the curriculum. I'm learning.
I'm glad I'm taking pictures and videos. Those are always useful later.
I tell ya - I learned that too. There is so much better structure if you take a week at the beginning, maybe two, to establish order, procedures, and trust. Getting to know each other, letting them know you're interested in who they are. Like Robin said, Firm, Fair, and Friendly.
